Quenton C's Playroom

Hi.
If anyone is looking for an actual person to play games with on QC's Playroom, my user name is Preppinmomma.
I prefer to play with actual players rather than bots but often times, when I join tables, nobody is there. Why anyone would create a table and then not play is beyond me.
Anyway, I hope to see some of yall there.

ah okay, what's the playrolom's website? might have to make a new account
since I don't remember any of it. :(

Post 3 by VioletBlue (Help me, I'm stuck to my chair!) on Wednesday, 16-Dec-2015 19:03:43

Funny, I was just going to create a similar post.

Would anyone like to play rummy with me sometime, on RS Games? There's a voice chat feature, optional. I thought it might be fun to meet some Zone members there.

Would anyone like to suggest a time/day, for either place?

I've never tried Quentin's but could give it a go.

do you have Diceworld, blue violet?

Post 5 by VioletBlue (Help me, I'm stuck to my chair!) on Wednesday, 16-Dec-2015 22:28:35

No I don't. Is that something for the Iphone, or computer?

I'll try to look it up...

Hi,

You can get the playroom at:
http://www.qcsalon.net/
My user name is StaindAddict both on the zone, RS Games, and the playroom. So, if you want to play, send me a message, and I'd be happy to play a game.

Post 7 by UniqueOne (I'll have the last word, thank you!) on Friday, 18-Dec-2015 23:17:27

What games do they have? are they really difficult? Just asking I don't know how to play a lot of card games.

Post 8 by ApplePeaches (If the zone bbs was a drug, I'd need rehab.) on Saturday, 19-Dec-2015 13:41:24

The playroom has a lot of games. The thing I've noticed about that site
though is that most of the users that play are from other countries. Hardly
anyone from the US plays there. I don't think that has anything to do with
why people don't play, and I'm often faced with the same thing when I
come on which is why I don't really use it. I use RS games more, and I like
RS better. Sometimes though with RS I find myself playing with bots, but I
just don't always feel like waiting around. I also noticed that on RS when a
new game is released, it's popular for a week and then people just stop
playing. I guess the novelty wears off.

I saw some posts about dice world. I use it, so if you want to challenge
me, my username is Applegirl

Post 9 by GreenTurtle (Music is life. Love. Vitality.) on Saturday, 19-Dec-2015 20:27:10

RS doesn't just have card games, although there are quite a few. There are also a couple of dice games, as well as Monopoly. If you want a card game that isn't traditional, they've got you covered. Try out Apples to Apples or Cards Against Humanity.

Post 10 by Perestroika (Her Swissness) on Saturday, 19-Dec-2015 20:36:24

I play as Gryfynn on there.
I only play people who don't just up and leave when they are losing. I block anyone who does that.

Post 11 by VioletBlue (Help me, I'm stuck to my chair!) on Sunday, 20-Dec-2015 0:03:17

How rude! I haven't yet encountered that, and hope I don't.

Post 12 by johndy (I just keep on posting!) on Sunday, 20-Dec-2015 3:17:31

I just tried out Playroom for a while, and I find the results to be mixed. I play Uno a lot on RS-Games, but when I tried it on Playroom, I found I didn’t like it very much. The card arrangement on Playroom seems to be very random, and if you don’t remember what card was played or you hit the control key to stop your screenreader from reading because you want the game to go faster, you’re almost left with a sort of trial and error, hunt and peck thing until you find out what card you can play, or you find out you can’t play anything in your hand. RS-Games’ rendition is a lot more intuitive. The cards are arranged according to color and don’t seem to be as random. Plus, if you don’t remember what card was played, you can arrow down through the ones you already have in your hand, and the software will beep the card that’s playable. If nothing is, all you have to do is arrow down to draw card. Uno on RS-Games is definitely a lot faster. The only thing I don’t like about RS-Games is that sometimes the game will time out or stop, and you have to close out and start another game. Or just sit there until the server wants to give you another chance to play, which could be a half-hour. Nobody has time for that.

Post 13 by VioletBlue (Help me, I'm stuck to my chair!) on Sunday, 20-Dec-2015 11:43:07

And there's far too much time between hands of Blackjack. I like that game, but won't play it on RS, for that reason. I do wish they'd change this, and add a poker game. Allinplay has the best poker game, but it seems to be a ghost town, these days. I won't pay for a game I can't play!

I'm VioletBlue on RS, btw.

Post 14 by Smiling Sunshine (I've now got the bronze prolific poster award! now going for the silver award!) on Sunday, 20-Dec-2015 12:01:01

That was why I didn't reinstall RS on my laptop, too much lag.
There are shortcut keys on playroom in Uno to arrange your cards by color or number in ascending or descending order.
It irritates the stuffing out of me when people just up and leave a game when they're not winning.
I love Apples to Apples and have heard that Cards Against Humanity is a blast so I might look at reinstalling RS. I think I'll have to set up a new account though.

Post 15 by johndy (I just keep on posting!) on Sunday, 20-Dec-2015 17:01:23

I also got hit onn about a week ago when I was playing Uno with someone. Flattering but a little intense and freaky because I’m not sure he realized I’m a gay boy. After I won the game, I took off.

Post 16 by Faial (Zone BBS Addict) on Wednesday, 10-Feb-2016 11:39:25

I also play in playroom since 5 years! I am Jorge there. There are a lot of rude people there but also a lot of nice. It's a place where we have to be smart and filter the people we comunicate with. But it's a nice place to be specially because there are a lot of players from all around the world and this is a great point for me!

Post 17 by LeoGuardian (You mean there is something outside of this room with my computer in it?) on Thursday, 11-Feb-2016 13:47:08

Too bad they don't have a mac client. One thing RS has them beat on.
And no, I'm not installing Windows on my home mac just for the game lol I work on Windows, play on my mac.

Post 18 by Shadow_Cat (I've now got the silver prolific poster award! wahoo!) on Saturday, 13-Feb-2016 7:47:19

I don't like the PlayRoom's Uno. But yes, the biggest problem with RS is the time lag. Domestic Goddess, you have me on Facebook, if you're looking for someone to play a game on either RS or PlayRoom, shoot me a private message, and I'll play if I'm around. And yes, Cards Against Humanity is hilarious. b

Post 19 by Raskolnikov (I'll have the last word, thank you!) on Saturday, 13-Feb-2016 8:16:14

I'm somewhat reluctant to re-install RS Games on my laptop.
But I also had the experience of sore-losers disappearing from a game when I was winning. Some of the other games such as A Thousand Miles--or whatever the correct name is--were fun. I was getting good at this Miles game until my laptop died and put an end to my progress.
I never got the chance to play Cards Against Humanity. It's one of the few games on there that you can't compete against a bot.

Post 20 by Faial (Zone BBS Addict) on Saturday, 13-Feb-2016 10:18:30

I have the feeling that Playroom is much lighter than RSGames. But I don't play RSgames since 3 years maybe so they probably improved. I also like in playroom the variety of games and the community there. I think that there are a lot of people connected and we always find someone to play with!

Post 21 by Faial (Zone BBS Addict) on Saturday, 13-Feb-2016 10:20:23

Also I like the free tables. Sometimes it's nice just to relax and chat with people. And we can share music by copying addresses like dropbox which is cool!

Post 22 by Smiling Sunshine (I've now got the bronze prolific poster award! now going for the silver award!) on Saturday, 13-Feb-2016 11:54:48

Playroom does indeed need a Mac Client.
Shadowcat, will do.
As for Cards Against Humanity, Violet Blue, and I usually get a game going around 10 PM Central time. I'm going to have one up tonight if anyone wants to play. It's a riot.

Post 23 by VioletBlue (Help me, I'm stuck to my chair!) on Saturday, 13-Feb-2016 11:59:35

I'll be there tonight, Saturday. Shadowcat, please join us!

Post 24 by Shadow_Cat (I've now got the silver prolific poster award! wahoo!) on Saturday, 13-Feb-2016 18:35:03

Is this 10 PM central time?

Post 25 by Smiling Sunshine (I've now got the bronze prolific poster award! now going for the silver award!) on Saturday, 13-Feb-2016 18:55:48

Yes, 10 pm Central.

Is the Playroom totally broken for anyone? Last December-January I wanted to get my boyfriend into Scopa, and I hadn't been on in maybe two years, but whether I tried to resurrect my old account or create a new one, whether I uninstalled and reinstalled the client, the app just would not let me in. I gave up. A year later I am resetting my password but receiving no e-mails; I even went to Gmail's website and checked the main spam folder. Nada. I really miss playing Scopa and the Little Exam!

Post 27 by Smiling Sunshine (I've now got the bronze prolific poster award! now going for the silver award!) on Saturday, 26-Nov-2016 15:05:51

I love The Little Exam and Scopa.
It's working fine for me.

Post 28 by hopeburnsblue (http://hopeburnsblue.deviantart.com) on Sunday, 27-Nov-2016 0:09:27

Update: Never did get the desktop client to work, but as it turns out, the Web app works just fine and isn't a total PITA. So I'm back in the game. #Puns

Post 30 by Damia (I'm oppinionated deal with it.) on Sunday, 11-Dec-2016 15:37:15

We only have computers with linux or os anymore so play room is out here. I like rs, and
play dice world, but end up getting bored of it after a while and accidently let games
lapse.

Post 31 by BellatrixLestrange (I'm here to give everyone a hard time lol!) on Saturday, 25-Feb-2017 22:37:29

I like uno on pr better than on rs because yu can intercept anyone's card if you have the card of the same number or color rather than waiting your turn to play.

Post 32 by musicjunky (Newborn Zoner) on Thursday, 04-Jan-2018 17:28:58

I have recently discovered that I can't put the Playroom on my computer. Actually, I don't even have the chance to install the client because Windows Defender keeps thinking it is a virus, and it gets automatically deleted. Any thoughts?

Post 33 by Animal metal (I'm a martian) on Thursday, 04-Jan-2018 18:55:53

deactivate your antivirous when you going to instal then activate again when
its already instal. it work for me like that lol

Post 34 by musicjunky (Newborn Zoner) on Friday, 05-Jan-2018 9:36:04

Okay, maybe I'll try that.

Post 35 by the oracle (I'm going for the prolific poster awards!) on Friday, 05-Jan-2018 13:07:54

i love quiz party and the little exam.

never people to play though.

will bare that in mind

Post 36 by BellatrixLestrange (I'm here to give everyone a hard time lol!) on Sunday, 07-Jan-2018 23:56:38

Which do you guys like better? Rs games, or playroom?

Post 37 by the oracle (I'm going for the prolific poster awards!) on Monday, 08-Jan-2018 11:55:20

RS games

playroom may have more games (and the option to create a free table, which I won't lie, I love that idea!)
playroom also have bots that can trade in monopoly (which is totally cool), and quiz party (which is, I think, now my fave game)
the games on RS are just more enjoyable though, even their versions of uno and farkle (they don't feel the same on playroom)

plus RS have cards against humanity

Post 38 by forereel (Just posting.) on Monday, 08-Jan-2018 19:21:47

Also in defender you can go in to settings and allow a program.
The files in the quarantine section, so you select allow.

Post 39 by Smiling Sunshine (I've now got the bronze prolific poster award! now going for the silver award!) on Thursday, 11-Jan-2018 17:09:14

I like both for different reasons. Usually I play on Playroom more frequently
than I do on RS because I've made the total switch to a Mac and I don't care for
the RS client for Mac. I will go to RS for Cards Against Humanity though. I just
reinstalled it on the Windows side of my Mac the other day. Also, if you're
wanting to play without having to use a client, Playroom now has a web client
that works with Safari.

Does the web version of the playroom have sounds from the games or is it just text?

Post 41 by Animal metal (I'm a martian) on Saturday, 13-Jan-2018 20:17:30

it has sounds

Post 42 by Svenja (don't need any!) on Tuesday, 16-Jan-2018 4:49:37

haven't played both for a long time now

Post 43 by BellatrixLestrange (I'm here to give everyone a hard time lol!) on Saturday, 20-Jan-2018 23:05:22

I wish playroom could have voice chat

Post 44 by jazzyjennifer (Generic Zoner) on Wednesday, 14-Feb-2018 15:20:05

yeah, i am jazzyjennifer on there, and they do have a lot of games to chews from, some of them i dont know hot to play, like i know how to play the well known ones, like black jack, and stuff,
